They cast us out into the dark; we returned as its master.

Overview

The Umbral Advance is a void elf exclusive military RP guild on Moon Guard Alliance. We don’t see a lot of love for our void-touched elves, so we’ve come about to try to change that and expand the void elf community. Our vision for the guild is to create a community inspired by the early developing infrastructure of the Ren’dorei and their place among the Alliance. The Ren’dorei were a group of scholars and those outcast from Silvermoon for their experimentation with Void magic - a magic considered forbidden and dangerous within Thalassian society. After being banished by Grand Magister Rommath, Magister Umbric led these outcasts to continue their research in secrecy, bringing them to the shattered realm infused with Void energy known as Telogrus Rift. There, they were all nearly consumed by the Void, barely saved by the swift intervention of Alleria Windrunner, who had mastered the Void herself. With her help, they learned to control its whispers and harness its power without succumbing to madness. Afterward, the group formally became the Ren’dorei, or “Children of the Void,” and pledged their loyalty to the Alliance, with Umbric serving as their leader and Alleria as their mentor. The Umbral Advance serves as a start-up of a military force representing the Ren’dorei. We look to bring stability and structure to a slowly congregating people, support for those who seek to learn of the void, and unify our people in the name of discipline, defense, and the ascension of the Ren’dorei as a formidable ally to the Alliance. The Umbral Advance operates under the Celestial Guide, a comprehensive charter that defines our origins, philosophy, ranks, divisions, and standards of conduct. It serves as the foundation for our organization to ensure consistency, discipline, and purpose as we grow and strengthen the Ren'dorei's place within the Alliance.

Divisions

Members are able to choose between the three divisions in the guild: Collective of the Dark Star, Bulwark of the Umbral Crown, and Diocese of the Silent Halo. Due to the structure of the hierarchy, members will only be able to select one of the three divisions to avoid cross-over of their reporting commanders. However, should their direct report not be present, the highest ranking member available is acting commander as per the established hierarchy.Promotions are based on merit, length of activity, participation points and contribution to the guild's objectives. One point towards progression is rewarded per guild event attendance.Guild objectives are any RP that involves active participation in the guild's story (per officer discretion). Some examples of this are:
• Attending guild events
• Pursuing special guild story narratives
• Actively participating in community events such as Conquest as a representative of the guild

Bulwark of the Umbral Crown

Comprised of our frontline soldiers, rangers, tacticians, and scouts, members of the Bulwark form the martial backbone of the Umbral Advance. They are trained in both traditional and void-augmented warfare.

Collective of the Dark Star

Arcanists, locus researchers, and voidweavers collaborate under the Collective of the Dark Star. Together, they uncover the mysteries of the Void, research artifacts, and deploy advanced magic in support of the field.

Diocese of the Silent Halo

The Diocese of the Silent Halo is made up of shadow menders and supportive personnel. They tend to wounds both physical, mental, and spiritual as well as maintain the Advance's morale and balance.
